Substitutes Needed: Did you know that Nebo School District is not only the highest rated district in south Utah county but also the sixth-largest school district in the state with over 35,000 students? With over 4,500 employees in Nebo School District, there is ample opportunity for you to be a substitute teacher or technician.

Bill Wright teaches 3D Art and Drawing at Salem Jr High. While in jr high, he took a lot of art classes and liked to play badminton during lunch. Mr. Wright loves martial arts and paint ball.

Neely McEwan is the Registrar and Counseling Secretary at Salem Jr High. She still uses some of the recipes she got from her home ec teacher in junior high. Mrs. McEwan loves everything Disney!
Smart Steps for Stepfamilies
Did you know that one in three children currently live in a stepfamily? This includes many of the children within the Nebo School District. Stefamilies can be successful! Utah State University's "Healthy Relationships Utah" has developed a 7-session course for individuals who have a child or children from a previous relationship. You'll learn how to answer questions like:

9th Grade CCR's: Parents of 9th Graders, it's time to sign up for a 9th Grade College and Career Readiness meeting. At this informative 30-minute meeting we will discuss high school graduation requirements, college and career options available to students in high school and beyond. We will also discuss how to prepare for high school registration in the spring. Be sure to check your email for a Sign-Up Genius link from your counselor. We hope to see you soon!
Faculty and Staff Spotlight
Tim Becker teaches Englsih at Salem Jr. High. He was the best speller in his junior high, but missed the word I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E in the first round of the school-wide spelling bee. Mr. Becker likes to tell his students to "Think a little deeper."
Captains Academy
Youth athletic leaders from secondary schools in Nebo School District gathered for Captains’ Academy this morning. This program is a powerful venue for students in leadership positions to increase communication and friendship among student athletes. Students are provided the opportunity to meet with their peers who are leaders in the same activities, discuss and plan how to lift others and encourage sportsmanship and leadership, and collaborate with one another to address shared challenges.

Macie Epps teaches US History at Salem Jr High. When she was in junior high, Ms. Epps liked the songs "Party Rock Anthem" and "Call Me Maybe." She always thought she would grow up to be an author, because she likes reading so much.
LIA Students Help with Reading
Students in our LIA class have the opportunity to volunteer each week in the 4th grade classrooms at Foothills Elementary.
