Math Club: Hungry for math? Then you might want to join the new Math Club! Five 8th graders and five 9th graders from the club will get the chance to prove their math skills in the upcoming District Math Tournament, get t-shirts and win big. The first club meeting is after school on Tuesday, Nov. 16th in room 110. Talk to your math teacher for more information!

DeAnna Ashworth - Teaches Drama, Tech Theater, Novels & Lit, Film Making, and Journalism at Salem Jr. High. Mrs. Ashworth played the flute in junior high, but would “forget” to take it to school. She is more of a cat person, but loves the puppies they recently adopted.

Nikki Lamoreaux - Teaches Secondary Math and has a Math Lab at  Salem Jr High. Mrs. Lamoreaux is from Canada.  In junior high, her friends tried to find out if she would fit in a garbage can (but Mrs. Lamoreaux fought back, and they never did find out if she fit).

PBS Kids Reading Marathon

The PBS KIDS Reading Marathon is taking place during the month of November. Children (ages preschool - 6th grade) are encouraged to read 20 minutes per day or 600 minutes total throughout the month. From December 1-15 parents will then go on to our PBS website and log their minutes for AMAZING prizes around town during 2022!  

Each Reading Marathon participant will receive a personalized Adventure Pass which will give them the following:

FREE entrance to Hogle Zoo
FREE entrance to Red Butte Garden
FREE entrance to Tracy Aviary

Family Mental Health Night: This will be held November 3 from 6:00p - 7:00pm. This might be the most important event of the year for all parents! Support your child's mental health and wellness by joining us for an informative event for parents and educators.  Ask questions of leading family therapists and take advantage of a free resource to help parents with important topics such as identifying anxiety, depression, grief, suicide ideation and parenting with purpose.
