SaJHS Talent Show: Get ready for the Salem Junior High School Talent show! We are excited to have students audition and show off their skills. Starting March 21st until April 15th we will have sheets in the office to sign up for an audition slot! Your talent should not exceed 8 minutes (unless it's yodeling, then the sky's the limit). Callbacks will be later in the month of April and the talent show will have a rehearsal on the 12th of May. The actual talent show will be on the 13th of May.

Tiersa Ward teaches English at Salem Jr High. She regrets giving up playing the violin after playing for 3 years.  One of Mrs. Ward's favorite quotes is by Larry Elder: “You cannot control the outcome, but you’re 100% in control of the effort.  Hard work wins!”

Congrats to SaJHS Band at State Performance

Band students performed at the state jr. high band festival at the University of Utah. They were one of only 30 bands in the entire state to be selected to attend the festival and performed for a panel of 2 judges for ratings as well as participated in a judged sight reading performance. The band received ratings of "Excellent" from all judges and were praised for their ability to perform a good variety of styles and appropriate articulations as well as demonstrate good tone on their instruments throughout their performance.

Jaden Grill teaches science at Salem Jr High and has a SNAKE in her classroom. When she was in junior high, she was obsessed with animals and thought she'd be a veterinarian when she got older. For the past few years, Miss Grill has gotten into kickboxing and jiu jitsu.

Nikki Lamoreaux Honored at State Math Conference

Our very own Nikki Lamoreaux, a mathematics teacher at Salem Junior High, was honored this past week at the Utah Teacher of Mathematics Conference for the state of Utah. Ms. Lamoreaux received the George Shell Award.

This award is given to an exemplary secondary mathematics teacher and recipients of this award encourage student achievement by the following ways:

Special Ed Teacher Needed: We currently have an opening for a special education teacher. This position is full-time beginning the 2022-2023 school year. SPED Teaching certification with mild-moderate endorsement required. You can apply through the district website using this link.
