One hundred percent of these monies fund teacher grants to help supplement equipment and supplies for students.

Advisory Lesson: On Mondays we have a little time built into the schedule for advisory time. We use this time for a variety of school wide activities which includes inform students about school events, teach school wide lessons about student success skills, student news show, and policy reviews. The lesson this week was used to review information about the Nebo district harassment policy.

Lauriejo Stillhart teaches business classes at Salem Jr High. She used to like to dress up as a clown for Halloween until discovering that lots of people think clowns are scary. When she was in junior high, Ms. Stillhart wanted to become a professional whistle-ist (yes, there really are people who get paid just to whistle!)

Three Salem Jr. High Band Students Make Jr. High All State Band

Congratulations to Ben Blakesley, Parker Fillmore, and Alex Steinagel on their acceptance into the 2021-2022 Utah Junior High All-State Band. After submitting an audition video, Ben, Parker, and Alex were selected by audition judges to be officially invited to participate with only 110 students from around the state of Utah in this year's band.  Students from over 60 schools auditioned to create this year's ensemble. Ben will be playing baritone saxophone, Parker will be on tenor saxophone, and Alex will play tenor saxophone and clarinet.

Katelin Barker teaches math at Salem Jr High. She had to rummage through the garbage in junior high to help find a friend's retainer.  Mrs. Barker's advice is "It is always better to be known as the nice kid growing up instead of the bully."
