Submitted by jolynn.ford on

The SaJHS History department organized an amazing Veteran's Day observance on Novemeber 12. This included our own student band members playing Taps and Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. Then the teachers discussed the importance of our Veterans and showed videos explaining their sacrifices. It was a touching and impressive activity.

On Thursday November 8th, one of Salem Junior High School's advanced choirs performed at Stokes Market at 4:00 PM. This wonderful singing group sang five songs: Jump, Right Here Waiting for You, Eye of the Tiger, Into the West, and Viva La Vida. Many of the Choir students and audience members gave us their comments on some of these songs. "I really liked the song, Viva la Vida" - Ethan Mayfeild. "I liked the song Eye of Tiger because it was very upbeat, it was a great performance."- Adam Johnson. "I thought it was pretty fun!" Levi Ward. "I think my favorite song we sang was Viva La Vida.

Intramural Sports at SaJHS

Submitted by jolynn.ford on

Intramural sports is a good way for a student to have fun, and play anoncompetitive sport. The sports are available for all students who go to Salem Hills Jr High School. The sports are all paid for by the district, so they are all free. Plus you can attend whenever, wether it be one day or more. There are no teams so you can't be cut from it. You can come to the sports either in the morning between 7-7:45 before school, or after school. The sports will be held in the gym by Mr.Blanchard.
