Annual Poetry Slam was a Success

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on

Last Friday, our students came together to participate in our annual school-wide poetry slam. Students started by writing and performing their own poems in class. Some students then were invited to participate in the school slam. This year was the first year that we required all students in the school slam to perform their own poetry. Teachers agreed that overall the quality of the poems used was great and the performances were much better than years past.

Lexy Webster places 3rd in state spelling bee championship

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on

Lexy Webster took 3rd place in the state spelling bee championship on Saturday, March 10. She said it was a great experience and she had a lot of fun. She received a brand new laptop and bragging rights for doing so well (although Lexy definitely isn't the type to brag about herself). Lexy has been taking part in spelling bees since 4th grade and has always done really well. This is the last year that Lexy is eligible to participate in the bee, so it was an excellent way to finish her run.
