The girls track & field team did awesome and brought another championship to Salem Jr. In the 100 meter hurdles Emily Stevens got 2nd, Hannah Lindsey 4th, and Macady Baxter 8th. In the 100 meter dash Miley Houghton got 2nd, and Hannah Lindsey got 4th. Abi Holmgren got 4th and Hailey Johnson 8th in the 1600 meter run. In the 400 meter sprint Emily Stevens got 5th. Members of the 4x100 meter relay team Hannah Lindsey, Hailey Bradley, Hannah Johnson and Macady Baxter finished in 3rd place. In the 800 meter run Sydney Crook got 6th and Hailey Johnson 8th. Leah Adams, Kapri Boggess, Hailey Johnson and Emily Stevens finished 5th in the 4x400 meter relay. In the shot put throw Miley Houghton got 1st, Hailey Bradley 3rd, Tori O'Hara 4th, and Amber Slater 7th. In the Discus throw Miley Houghton got 1st, and Tori O'Hara 2nd. In the High Jump Whitney Wilde got 3rd, Michelle Spencer 4th, and Aubrey Tasker 6th. In the long jump Hannah Johnson got 1st, Whitney Wilde 7th, and Emily Stevens 8th. We were very impressed with the performances of the 7th and 8th graders throughout the season. Great Job Spartans!
