6th Graders Visit SaJHS

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on Tue, 02/28/2017 - 10:44

9:oo Monday morning several buses rolled past my windows and unloaded next year's 7th grade class. They came out laughing and joking, looking around wide-eyed and pointing around as they took in their new school for the next several years. Obviously were excited to come the the junior high to check out the school and learn about classes and activities that they will get to try next year when they become junior high students.

History with Mr. Winget

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on Fri, 02/24/2017 - 10:02

If you’ve ever heard of Mr. Winget, then you know he is one of the greatest teachers here at Salem Jr High. Mr. Winget brings fun, easy, and safe activities to his classroom in order to make learning a little easier and fun.  On the other hand while Mr. Winget may be fun, he also doesn’t tolerate bad behavior, so it’s up to the students to have fun in his class as well.

The concert band students had an amazing opportunity this morning to have Dr. Kirt Saville from BYU work with them. Students were able to learn more about the proper style to play a march and how to bring more emotion to their music as a group. The band had Dr. Saville visit in preparation for their upcoming concerts and festivals in March. They will be performing at Salem Hills High on Wednesday March 8th at 6:00pm

February Math Muncher Question 2

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on Thu, 02/23/2017 - 08:19

Every month, our math teachers challenge students at our school by posting three questions that students can answer to get tickets to enter a drawing at the end of the month. One student from each grade is chosen to win a prize. Each question gets progressively harder and is worth more tickets. Question 1 is worth one ticket, Question 2 is worth two tickets, and Question 3 is, of course, worth 3 tickets. This is Question 2 for the month of February. Can you answer it? Share with your friends to see if they can as well.
