Band Concert

Submitted by amy.huhtala on

On Monday the 7th, the SaJhs Bands performed for their winter concert. They’d been practicing for months and put on a great show, but there was some hassle earlier that day. The percussion class met with the Concert Band for the first time during Olympic time that day. They only got through one song in that period, so they decided on an practice at 4:00 that day. They practiced some more and were ready.

On Friday December 11th we had an awesome internet safety assembly brought to you by NetSmartz. It was to educate kids on how to be safe on the internet. What types of information is ok to post on social media and how to tell if someone is taking advantage of you on the internet or social media sites. Read the terms of service on apps, Some apps are allowed to send text messages without you knowing or post on instagram whenever they want with your account. The internet is a scary place if you are safe on it. Thank you! NetSmartz.

Star Wars: Suspense is Building

Submitted by amy.huhtala on
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is just 3 days away and everyone is getting excited. You could argue that the biggest movie of the year was Avengers: Age of Ultron, but some disagree. Businessinsider.com quoted a Citi prediction that said Star Wars will make $1.75 billion worldwide throughout its time in the theater. Harrison Ford, (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) will return in this 7th movie. Fans of the older movies and the newer ones will join to see this huge story.

SaJHS student says Tumbling Team is needed

Submitted by amy.huhtala on
Our school has many sports for students to choose from. They have tennis, golf, basketball, football, wrestling, drill, cheer, and more. One sport that our school doesn’t have is tumbling. Tumbling is a part of gymnastics that you do on the floor. You learn different skills like back handsprings, back tucks, layouts, whips, and other tricks. I personally think that our school should have a tumbling team because it’s a good way to get your exercise and you can have fun while doing it. Tumbling includes a rod floor, a tumble track, trampoline, and sometimes a double mini.

Submitted by amy.huhtala on

It is 1 week and 5 days till Star Wars: The Force Awakens and this week we’re talking Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. This is the 5th movie made in the saga in the world’s timeline, but it is the 2nd in the Star Wars timeline. Since this is an opinion article, I going to totally slam this movie, so stop reading now if you love it.
