More Fall Captain's Academy

Our Fall captains were able to hear from Jordan Stevenson, a Navy veteran who was shot in his head in Afghanistan. Stevenson is a former division 1 athlete who was told he would never walk or talk again. He spoke to the student leaders about how we never stop believing in ourselves, take one step at a time, and just keep going. He can walk and talk because he just took it a step at a time and trusted in himself. What great advice to our students to not only help them throughout their education but throughout their life as well.

Youth athletic leaders from secondary schools in Nebo School District gathered for Captains’ Academy this week. This program is a powerful venue for students in leadership positions to increase communication and friendship among student athletes. Students are provided the opportunity to meet with their peers who are leaders in the same activities, discuss and plan how to lift others and encourage sportsmanship and leadership, and collaborate with one another to address shared challenges.
