End of Level Testing: End of level testing for 8th graders begins April 12 and will continue for the following 4 weeks. Students will be tested in Writing, Math Language Arts and Science. 9th grade students will take the ACT Aspire test on april 20th and 21st. This assesses understanding of core standards in Reading, Writing, English, Math and Science. It is a good tool to help students and parents monitor progress towards a successful ACT test that they will take in high school.

Spartan Summit Award: Time is running out if your student is working towards earning the 2020 - 2021 Spartan Summit Award. The deadline for completing the requirements is April 12th.  If you have questions regarding this you can talk to Mrs. Tomadakis in the Library.

Masks: Please remember to send your student each day with a clean mask. We’ve been able to give out thousands of masks this year but our supply is starting to run low. HB294 makes adjustment to the statewide mask mandate April 10. However, the mandate is sill in effect for groups larger than 50 and for schools. As of right now the health mandate requiring masks in schools is set to expire on July 1st. We are all hopeful that is the case and we can begin next school year under normal conditions.

Chromebook Lost Chargers or Broken Keys: Students need to bring their chromebooks to class charged each day. This will be even more important with the end of year testing for 8th grade students and the 9th grade ACT that is coming up. If your student has lost their charger they are available to purchase from Mrs. Teuscher. If your student is having any other issues with their chromebook, please contact Mrs Teuscher at linda.teuscher [at] nebo.edu (linda[dot]teuscher[at]nebo[dot]edu).

Salem Jr Musical: SaJHS's Musical Review Titled "Seasons of Love: a Jr High Musical Review" starts March 24th & Runs through March 27th. Seating is limited. Please pre-purchase tickets to ensure your seat. You may purchase tickets at this website. General admission for pre- purchase sales begins March 18th. Please plan on wearing a mask and being seated for social distancing.

Girls Cheer: Girls entering 9th grade in the Fall of 2021 that are interested in trying out for 9th Grade Cheer need to register with Salem Recreation. Cheer Clinic will be held April 29th & 30th from 4:30-6:30 at the Salem Activity Center and tryouts will be on April 30th beginning at 7:00 at the same location. For those who make the squad, the fee will be approximately $350.00. Please call Salem Recreation if you have questions at 801-423-1035.
