Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest: The annual Ugly Sweater Contest will be held during lunch on Thursday, December 17.  Wear the ugliest sweater you can find and enter if you wish. Top three winners in each lunch will win a large candy bar. Note to self, don’t congratulate someone on their ugly sweater aspirations until after they've made it perfectly clear that they are entering the contest.

UCAS Open Houses

The Utah County Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is a specialized, magnet public high school that provides an unconventional educational opportunity for high school students who are greatly motivated. UCAS provides a curriculum with emphasis in STEM (Science, Math, Engineering and Technology). UCAS works closely with Utah Valley University (UVU) allowing students who have the interests, ability, and desire to move through their formal schooling at an accelerated rate.

Winter Retreat for Students

The Utah County Health Department is hosting a virtual holiday event for students on Saturday, December 12. Their focus will be on positivity and inclusivity even though we are maintaining distance at the same time. There have a local motivational speaker planned, virtual escape games, gifts, and prizes. They are working to make this a very fun Saturday even though it will all be virtual. Spread the word about this event to all your friends ages 12-18. There is also a Facebook event you can refer students and parents to that will give more detail. It is called OUTRAGE!

Midterm
It is already mid-term. After this Friday, there are only 19 school days left in second term. Log into Icampus to check your students’ progress and grades. Encourage them to reach out to teachers to schedule times to work after school if they need extra help. Teachers are available after school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
