Congratulations to our wonderful science teacher, Kellie Roberts for receiving the PEAK award from the district this month. She was nominated by fellow teacher Alex Robinson. Mrs. Roberts is an excellent teacher and we feel lucky to have her here at our school. Choir Concert

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on

Each of our talented choirs performed several numbers at their concert Monday evening. A highlight was the SaJHS alumni joining in for “Grandma’s Killer Fruitcake"! The concert closed with all choirs taking the stage to sing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” We are grateful to Mr. Guthrie and his talented choirs for providing a  beautiful, holiday-spirited performance!

Salem Junior student design chosen for the Nebo District Christmas card

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on

Every year, Nebo School District has a Christmas card design competition, usually done with high school students. The winning design is then chosen for the district's Christmas card. This year, however, they decided to invite junior high students to submit their Christmas card designs instead of high school students. We were excited to see that students from our school took first and third place in the contest. Heather Gunnerson in 9th grade won first place and her design will be used for this year's Christmas card. Leah Ford in 7th grade took third place. Congratulations and well done!

No Parent Teacher Conferences this term

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on
With the support of the PTO, School Community Council and the District office, our school has decided to cancel parent-teacher conference this Thursday and add another mini-conference before Christmas break. Mini conferences consist of teachers contacting parents of students who are failing or at risk of failing class for the term and asking parents to have their students stay late some time that next week for a mini-conference where they can get help improving their grades or catching up on missing work.
