4 H After school Activities

Some of the teachers at our school do fun activities after school. You meet in their classroom right after school. The room numbers are on the flyer in the office. How to get into 4 H afterschool? You have to pay 10$ in the office.

Students enjoy Olympic Time

Today was the first day of the term in which students were involved in Olympic Time. Students with A's, B's, and C's were eligible to go to enrichment activities, while students needing intervention could get more targeted help from their teachers. Students in Classroom 117 enjoyed the game room.

Welcome Back to School

Welcome back all Salem Junior High students! After a long and hot summer break, it is now time to return back to your school schedule! We welcome all of the 368 seventh graders who entered SAJHS this year and say goodbye to the 320 ninth graders who left our school to become very successful tenth graders. We are very excited for this school year, especially with our many new teacher. All of the teachers have many fascinating and exciting plans to keep out students involved in learning.

 Ms. Howard teaches English. This is her first year teaching. She wants to help her students be successful and find books that they love. Ms. Howard’s favorite food is ice cream. Her favorite animal is a dog. She is interested in Romania. She also loves volleyball.

Mrs. Huhtala's 7th Grade Class Winners

Every year in Mrs. Huhtala's and Mr. J's English class, students during 4th term read "The Lightning Thief." The students are separated into Camp Half Blood Cabins and compete for cabin points. This year. with a total of 609 points, Poseidon won the trophy! From left to right: Kellsie Swalberg, Tyler Stone, Duncan Smith, and Megan Dixon. The students received a large sized candy bar, certificate, and got to write their names on the trophy which is a wooden replica of a God's throne on Olympus.

Girls Track Results

The girls track & field team did awesome and brought another championship to Salem Jr. In the 100 meter hurdles Emily Stevens got 2nd, Hannah Lindsey 4th, and Macady Baxter 8th. In the 100 meter dash Miley Houghton got 2nd, and Hannah Lindsey got 4th. Abi Holmgren got 4th and Hailey Johnson 8th in the 1600 meter run. In the 400 meter sprint Emily Stevens got 5th. Members of the 4x100 meter relay team Hannah Lindsey, Hailey Bradley, Hannah Johnson and Macady Baxter finished in 3rd place. In the 800 meter run Sydney Crook got 6th and Hailey Johnson 8th.

Tennis Team ties for District Championship

The Boys Tennis Varsity Team are co-district champions! The team had 3 first place wins, a 2nd place win, and 1 3rd place win in the different divisions. Booker Ward, Brandon Mayo, David Jones, and Mason Iverson went undefeated to win in a sweep against all the other junior highs. Treylon Lasson and Trey Stephens lost some tough battles to Mapleton and Payson, but fought back in the end to earn a 3rd place title. Jesse Clark and Jace Dyches won 2nd place after a tiebreaker. This district championship has put Salem Tennis on the map.
