Student Wellness Center

Over the past summer our counseling and administrative team have been working to create a Student Wellness Center here at Salem Junior High School. The goal of our Wellness Center is to provide a safe place for students to practice and learn self-regulation by taking short mental health breaks as needed, with the goal of students returning to class as soon as possible. Several schools in our district and many statewide are implementing Wellness Centers in hope to better support their students. We live in a world where students are facing a variety of stressors and sometimes need help choosing and learning healthy ways to cope. Our hope is that the Wellness Center empowers our students with skills to self-regulate during stressful times and that they can utilize these skills throughout their entire lives. Wellness Centers are meant to be a space for any student who might be having a difficult day, struggling, or might just need a few minutes to “rest and reset”.

We cannot thank you enough for sending us such amazing students and all your support! We would like to thank The Cook Center for Human Connection for being a sponsor and giving us the opportunity to create this space for our students.

Our Wellness Center will be open during our Open House (August 15th, 2 PM- 4PM) for our students, parents, and community to visit.
