Picture Day: Picture day is this Friday the 27th of August. We sent home flyers with students on Monday. Here is the link for information on package options. The prepay code is salemjr21 . Make up day for those who miss will be October 5th.
Chromebook Info: Most students have their Chromebooks by now. If your student has not received their Chromebook and would like one, make sure to sign the use agreement and send it with your student to school. They will then need to bring the form to Mrs.Teuscher in the computer lab to get a Chromebook.
Chromebook Damage Check: If your student has already picked up a Chromebook, please make sure it is working correctly. Turn it on and check the screen, keys, etc. If it is not working correctly, please have your student talk to Mrs. Teuscher in the computer lab BEFORE Friday, September 10th at the end of the day. After Friday, all issues will need to be covered with insurance purchased or students that do not have Chromebook insurance will have to pay for the repair on their own.
Chromebook Insurance: If you still would like to buy insurance for your Chromebook it is not too late. You can bring your money into the school and pay the finance office or pay online at MySchoolFees The deadline to purchase insurance is September 10th. Any damage or loss of a chromebook without insurance will be charged up to $250 to your students account.
Attendance: Please check your students' attendance often and talk to them if they are missing classes or excessively tardy. If your student is going to miss school for sickness, medical visit, vacation or quarantine; please call and excuse the absence(s) with the attendance office at 801-423-6550 or email Mrs. Rawson at mitzi.rawson [at] nebo.edu (mitzi[dot]rawson[at]nebo[dot]edu)
Job Opportunity at Salem Jr High: Child nutrition workers are needed. Pick-up/Drop-off information: Please follow the directions in the Traffic Map Link (click the file on this page to see the map) to help make pickup and drop-off as smooth as possible. Please have patience with the system as it just takes time to have over 1000 students picked up or dropped off at the same time. Also, we are asking that you do not drop off or pick up your students on the west side of main street for their safety.
Girls Tennis: Attention all girls! They say Tennis is the sport of queens. If you're interested in playing, please contact coach Bell at reggie.bell [at] nebo.edu (reggie[dot]bell[at]nebo[dot]edu) Practice will be every Tuesday-Friday at 3:00 beginning on Tuesday August 30. Hope to see you there!
Cross Country: Do you like fruit loops and frosted flakes, maybe cocoa pebbles are your jam. If you like these then you’d love cross country. I bet you didn’t know there’s a cereal party every Thursday after practice. Coach Coroms personal motto is “if you’ve done the run, it’s time for the fun”. There is still time to join if you want to be part of our fun and supportive team! Practices will be on Mondays 2:05 and Tuesday-Thursday at 2:50. Meets will be Friday.
