Fall Student Picture Social Media Submissions: Your student council wants to remind you that we are doing a social media contest! Take a picture of you and your friends doing something fun to celebrate the fall season! You could take a picture of yourselves at a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, a haunted house, or just being out in the beautiful leaves! Post an appropriate picture that follows all the school rules with the hashtag, #SpookySaJHS! On the 29th at 2:00 PM we will do a drawing from those who have submitted them and you can win a special prize worth lots of money (relatively)!
Open Gym Basketball: We are starting Open Gym Basketball this week, Oct. 12th and 13th. We will be doing basketball every Tuesday through Friday the next 4 weeks (Unless there is no school that day). The Gym will be open from 3-4:30. Everyone is invited to come and play, boys and girls, 8th and 9th graders. Come play a great sport and have a great time!
Introduction to Wrestling Camp: Some people think that wrestling is just about doing sweet moves on your opponent like the half nelson or even the full nelson if you're feeling saucy. It's not just about the "Stone Cold Stunner"! It's about team building, leadership, and self confidence. Come give wrestling a shot, you may really like it. You may love it! This camp is for ages K-12 boys and girls. That's right, wrestling is for the lads and ladies these days. Salem Jr. and Salem Hills will both have a girl's team wrestling team this year. Dates are Oct. 19 & 20th from 6-7 pm in the Salem Hills Wrestling room. Cost is $5, you can bring the money to camp. To sign up send an email to T. J. FCCLA: Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a student organization that provides students leadership and service opportunities. If your student is interested, they can pick up an application in the counseling office. Applications are due to Aubrey Turnbow at SHHS (aubrey.turnbow [at] nebo.edu (aubrey[dot]turnbow[at]nebo[dot]edu)) or Sharon Keliiliki at SaJHS (sharon.keliiliki [at] nebo.edu (sharon[dot]keliiliki[at]nebo[dot]edu)) by October 25.
Girls Softball Open Gym: Girls softball open gym is being held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00 in the high school gym. This is for all 9th grade girls.
Drive Through Vaccine Opportunity: On October 22 there is a drive through vaccine clinic for Payson and south county residents. Information can be found on the attached flyer.
