Parent Volunteers for Track: Salem Jr has been asked to host the next track meet. It will be this Friday at the Payson High School Track from 1:45-5:30. We are looking to get 14 volunteers. This is a great opportunity to support your students doing something they love! I just checked the weather and it’s going to be a gorgeous 81 degrees so don’t forget your sunscreen! Listen up all of you artists!!: This week, from May 5th to the 7th we will be collecting artwork for the 2021 Spartan Showcase. We will be judging the pieces on Monday the 10th to award prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, for both 8th and 9th grade students. Your artwork can be 2D or 3D. If you choose to create digital art please get the file to Mr. Shaffer by Tuesday the 6th so he can print it out for you, otherwise you’ll need it printed on your own. This is open to all students. Please bring your artwork to Mr. Shaffer or Mr. Wright in Rooms 101 or 102. Don’t forget to write your name and grade on your artwork.
Parent Teacher Conference/Awards Night/Spartan Showcase: Parent teachers conferences will be held next Tuesday the 11th of May from 4:00-7:00 PM. No appointment is required. Teachers will be in their classrooms this time. Come by the office if you need your students' schedule printed. We will also be having an awards ceremony in the gym. If your student is getting an award you will receive an invitation in the mail. The spartan art showcase will be in the cafeteria that same evening.
Yearbook Ordering: The end of the school year is fast approaching. It's time to think about yearbooks. If you would like to purchase a yearbook they are 20.00 each. You may pay for them online at myschoolfees.com. You may also pay at the Finance Office with cash, check or credit card. We have a limited amount available so purchasing as soon as possible would help assure that you get one. If you have any questions or concerns please call Mrs. Cook in the Finance Office.
School Fees: If you haven’t already done so for the current school year, please pay your school fees. Payments can be made in person at the finance office or online at myschoolfees.com. We accept cash, check, or credit cards. To avoid collection proceedings please pay your fees as soon as possible. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, you may qualify for a fee waiver. School Talent Show (Extended Submission Deadline): Hey Spartans! Since we aren't able to have an assembly for a talent show this year, we want you to film your talent and show it to the whole school. This is a chance to show off the cool things you can do. You can dance, sing, tell a joke, ride a unicycle, do a kickflip, do a flipkick, show off sweet nunchuck skills, bo staff skills, computer hacking skills, read some slam poetry, or whatever else you can come up with! Submissions are now due next Monday, May 10th. Send your movie to Mr. Dunn or Mrs. Mendy! High School Student Council: 9th GRADERS INTERESTED IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL next year! There are posters advertising for the high school student council hanging all around the school. Go scan the QR code on them to apply! All applications must be turned in by this Friday, May 7th! In order to scan the code and apply you can't be on school wifi, Interviews and voting will take place next week! Good luck!
9TH Graders College Credit Classes: Ninth graders - Are you planning on taking classes in high school for college credit next fall for the first time? If so, you need to complete UVU admissions on May 12th in the Salem Hills High School library from 2-6 pm. Bring your social security number and a credit card. Contact Ms. Turnbow at Salem Hills High School if you have questions.
