School-wide Read Aloud - Restart
In an effort to encourage literacy with all of our students, the English department decided to try a school-wide read aloud to start off the year. Every English teacher has been reading the book Restart, by Gordon Korman, to their classes. Students have been participating in online discussions with other classes, answering questions about the development of the story and the various themes that they have seen developing.

School Pictures
It's school picture time!
Come ready for school pictures on Wednesday, August 22, 2018! Picture packets are being sent home with students the first day of school. If you would like to purchase pictures, please ask your student for the packet. Every student will have their picture taken for the yearbook, whether pictures are purchased or not.
Spartans end the season with a bang.
Our 2018 boys tennis season ended today with a big bang. Late this afternoon our #2 singles player, Eric Cheney, played the final match of the district tournament against his counterpart from Mapleton. The winner of the match would end up as the #3 player in that position, and the loser would drop to the #4 spot. More importantly, the winner of that match would determine which team would end the season as the district's tennis champion, an honor which typically goes to Mapleton.
Students of the Month for May
Today, we recognized the students of the month for May. These students have been working hard and focusing on their classes without getting too distracted by the prospect of summer vacation, so their teachers wanted to recognize them and show their appreciation. Here are the May students of the month:
9th Grade - Ashton Shepherd and Stormie Hanson
8th Grade - Kalex Braithwaite and Ashley Nelson
7th Grade - Maxx Montague and Kaycee Bott
Two weeks left.
Only two weeks left in the school year. Make sure to get all of your fines, fees, and lunch balances paid off. Students need to have all accounts up to date in order to be eligible to go to Lagoon and to get their yearbook early.
