The journalism class at SaJHS distributed the September issue of the Spartan Chronicle to all students Thursday during 8th period. This is the second year that SaJHS has publised a student newspaper. Last year, students enjoyed 3 issues of the Spartan Chronicle. The 2014-15 staff has plans to publish at least 4 print-versions of the Spartan Chronicle and has added a video news show that will have a weekly episode.

September's issue of The Chronicle includes an in-depth look at the issues with the Common Core, fall school and community sports, student and teacher spotlights, and many more articles. New to this year's publication is a feature titled, "The Heart of a Spartan" in which Freshman Eli Wilcox highlights students who face tough challenges everyday. Returning columns such as "Amanda-Know-it-All" and "The World According to Spencer" are also included in the September issue.

Every student will receive their own free copy of the Spartan Chronicle each month. If parents or other community members wish to subscribe to The Spartan Chronicle, please e-mail sajhsnews [at] gmail.com and we will send you a copy of the September issue as well as add you to our mailing list for subsequent publications.
