Salem Hills Marching Band Had a Great Year

Submitted by sam.mcgrath on

We wanted to recognize the Salem Hills marching band and the 9th-grade students who are a part of the band for their great season this year. Here is what Mr. Stolworthy, our band teacher, had to say about the band at the end of their season:

"On Friday, November 8th the Salem Hills High Marching Band took 3rd place at the state championship.
The following 9th-grade students traveled to St. George with the high school marching band:
Heather Gunnerson, Camary Lofthouse, Sienna Harvey, Jocelyn Bright, Matthew Horton, Titus Johnson, and Bridger Saunders. These students put in over 200 hours of work this season and competed 7 times against 15 different schools throughout the Fall.

This was a historic season as the band competed in the 5A classification for the first time in school history and took 3rd place in state in this inaugural year of 5A competition. The Salem Hills High School color guard earned 2nd-place marks in the competition to help secure the 3rd place in state.

Congratulations to the Salem Hills Skyhawk Marching Band and our Salem Jr. High 9th graders who participated this year. "
