SaJHS Track is Amazing!!

On Friday, May 3rd, Salem had a great pre-district meet against Springville and  Mapleton. Many people both had personal records and team/district records. Everyone worked so hard to beat their best times and measurements to qualify for the district track meet being held on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10. Congratulations to Paige Simmons by winning the 100m, 200m, 400m, and high jump. Adrene Harding did an amazing job running distance for Salem in the 800m and 1600m. She was able to run the 800m in only 2:24.20 and the mile in just 5:45. Sierra Draper did a wonderful job in the throwing events, both shotput and discus. Sierra was able to beat her personal best in shotput throwing 33 feet and also doing well in discus throwing 64 feet. Sophie Hartline did wonderful jumping 16'3 in the long jump. Salem's girls relay teams also did a wonderful job. The girls at Salem Jr. High did a wonderful job taking 2nd all around. Salem's boys also did an amazing job at this meet. AJ Larson was able to run the 100m in just 11 seconds. Wow is he fast! Clayton Vanfleet did a great job in both the 200 and 400 meter races. Tanner Bills did a wonderful job in high jump jumping 5 feet 7 inches. Sam Weeks also did an amazing job jumping 17 feet in long jump. Brandon Griffiths did an outstanding job in the discus throwing 119 feet. Great job to all Salem Jr. High Track athletes. Everyone did a wonderful job during this meet. We have had such a fun and amazing season. Good luck at districts we know you will do a wonderful job representing our school!
