SaJHS Students Attend Play at SHHS

Submitted by jolynn.ford on

On November 7th, the students of Salem Jr. High School had the opportunity to watch the students of Salem High School perform the musical “Guys and Dolls”. This play/musical was based on a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, which was based off of two short stories by Damon Runyon, with the music and lyrics written by Frank Loesser. It was written in the 1950’s and is about gamblers in New York finding love.

The students of Salem Hills High did a wonderful job a recreating this musical and bringing it to life. Many of the students enjoyed the play greatly.

I would like to recognize the efforts of the high school students and the Salem Hills High staff for working so hard to bring this musical to the stage. Their efforts were well worth it in the end, creating a musical well worth seeing. We also would like to thank them for allowing Salem Junior High to come and watch them rehearse for the final performance. It was a great honor to come and see them perform. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity and hope that this could become a tradition so that our school would be able to come again next year.
