With the support of the PTO, School Community Council and the District office, our school has decided to cancel parent-teacher conference this Thursday and add another mini-conference before Christmas break. Mini conferences consist of teachers contacting parents of students who are failing or at risk of failing class for the term and asking parents to have their students stay late some time that next week for a mini-conference where they can get help improving their grades or catching up on missing work. We did this for first term and had a lot of success in helping students improve their grades before the end of the term. There was a lot of positive feedback from parents and teachers for this type of conference which is why we will be doing it again. This term, teachers will be staying late for two sessions of mini-conferences. One before Christmas break and one after. Teachers will be staying late to help students on the 17th of December as well as the 7th of January. Students can stay after to work even if they aren't failing classes.  Dates of 1st Mini Conferences:Dec 10th or 11th - Contact parents/students with failing gradesDec 17th - Mini Conference Dates of 2nd Mini Conferences:Jan 2nd or 3rd - Contact parents/students with failing gradesJan 7th - Mini Conference
