Students at Salem Jr High School recently participated in a Multicultural Leadership Summit, hosted by The Utah Division of Multicultural Affairs (MCA) in partnership with Salt Lake Community College. This year’s virtual event focused on the theme: Reflect, Reengage, and Reignite. Students were able to hear speakers and participate in breakout sessions that invited youth to welcome new opportunities and envision various pathways to success.

Some of the topics covered included mental health and wellness, financial empowerment—by learning how to save for your future—and exploring college and career pathways.

One of our amazing teachers, Mrs Keliliiki brought 5 of her children to showcase dancing for our students. Her husband also came and taught the boys the Haka.  Mrs. K even catered a luau for the students! Thanks for sharing so many talents with our students. What a wonderful experience for all!
