Lexy Webster places 3rd in state spelling bee championship

Lexy Webster took 3rd place in the state spelling bee championship on Saturday, March 10. She said it was a great experience and she had a lot of fun. She received a brand new laptop and bragging rights for doing so well (although Lexy definitely isn't the type to brag about herself). Lexy has been taking part in spelling bees since 4th grade and has always done really well. This is the last year that Lexy is eligible to participate in the bee, so it was an excellent way to finish her run.

This is not a small feat. The state-wide spelling bee is very competitive and has students from schools all over Utah. Before the traditional rounds of elimination that most of us have seen in movies, students take a written test. This is where most students are eliminated. Even making it past that point is great. The fact that she took 3rd out of all those kids is pretty awesome. Make sure to congratulate Lexy if you see her.
