Keeping the School Clean- Editorial

Here’s a quick shout out to the school janitors (Adam Roberts and Rick Jacobsen) for keeping our school clean and safe! Mr. Roberts says “We should respect the school and to respect our school we need to keep it clean” But a shout out is probably not going to be enough to show how much we appreciate their work. Keeping the school clean is a great way to show respect to the school, staff, and custodians. Last year we did some contest for keeping the school clean but why does it have to be a contest in order to keeping the school clean? Here are some simple ways to keeping our school clean.

A lot of times students spill ink from a pen they broke or maybe they stepped on a pen causing the ink to spill out all over the hallways. We can prevent this from happening! You can watch where you’re going to prevent stepping and breaking anything that could spill and stain the tile or carpets. Or if you’re breaking them on purpose (as some students do), stop. It causes a traffic jam and it is hard on the custodians.

Another problem is the lunch room. We have addressed this problem too many times for something so very very simple. Clean up your mess! Even if it is a small wrapper or a milk carton, please just throw it away. To prevent spills hold your tray with both hands and walk slowly. You are in no hurry when eating your lunch. And remember to eat a lunch, it is unhealthy to go without eating!

One last thing, the bathrooms. Everyone hates walking into a stall that does not look like somewhere you want to go when you need to go. So just remember to keep those clean! And if you do just small little things to keep our school clean it will really help!
