In honor of Veteran's Day last week, our school sponsored a fundraiser for Utah's Honor Flight. The goal of the fundraiser was to raise $1000 in order to fund a trip for a veteran to go to Washington D.C. to see the war memorials that have been erected in their honor. This is one small thing that we felt we could do to honor the service that veterans have done for our country.

We told students that even if everyone donated just one dollar we would be able to send a veteran to Washington D.C. Students and their families really felt the spirit of this fundraiser and we ended on Friday with over $2000 raised which means that we will be able to sponsor two veterans and send them with Utah Honor Flight. It was so great to see students coming in to donate their money for such a great cause.

Also, we gave students the opportunity to write small notes to veterans to thank them for their service and sacrifice for our country. We had a discussion with our students about what notes of thanks and recognition can mean for someone who served in our military.

We received many notes from students which will be taken to a veteran's care facility in Payson and handed out there.
