Although Thanksgiving is over, we are still encouraging students here at the junior high to focus on the positive. Every Monday morning we set apart time for what we call Heart of a Spartan. This is an exercise that asks students to focus more on positive aspects in their lives and less on the negative. We are hoping to train their brains to be more optimistic and more grateful.

Many will recognize this as a similar program to the one they do at the high school. Our hope is to help students feel happier and more satisfied with their lives. The image above shows what we ask students to contemplate each week.
