For our Spartan Showcase during the upcoming Spartan Target Conference, Mr. Shaffer is sponsoring an art competition. He wants to encourage students to submit art projects of all kinds, even if they don't currently have an art class. It can be something that they've done in a class or own their own. He is taking submissions until April 29. See the flyer for more information.
Tradition continues here at SaJHS as we hold our 6th annual school-wide poetry slam. Students began in their classes where some were chosen to advance to the school slam. Today the school slam was held and out ten finalists were chosen. The top three of those finalists will be advancing to the district poetry slam which will be held on May 7th at 6:30 at Spanish Fork Jr.
Congratulations to the top 3 students:
1st place: Michael Langton
2nd place: Sam Bleggi

Lagoon day is quickly approaching and it's time to remind everyone of the requirements they need to meet in order to be eligible.
Lagoon day will be on Thursday, May 16. Students can start buying their tickets on April 29. The cost $50 which covers the cost of the buses plus entrance into the park. Students will be assigned to a bus as they sign up, so if they want to ride on the same bus as their friends, they need to buy their tickets together.
Students need to meet several requirements in order to be eligible to go to Lagoon. These requirements are for the whole school year and not just 4th term.
- No D's or F's
- No more than 2 TARDIES and NO SLUFFS
- No U's or N's in citizenship
Students who don't meet these requirements can meet with their teachers to make up deficient grades and citizenship and attend tardy makeup in the morning before school with Mrs. Ward to make up tardies and sluffs.
